Maxwell

This is Maxwell, or Max! Age is hard to judge but he’s definitely an elder. He’s small and has lived his life as an outside dog!!!!! Owner surrendered him to an animal advocate who reached out to us. He has bilateral mature cataracts but has some sight, Cushing’s disease, all of his teeth were removed due to infection, and he has many other medical conditions. He’s currently in foster and very happy!

On 10/16 we lost our Precious Maxx. He was just not himself for a couple of weeks. Vet visits showed nothing unusual. Then on the 16th, he had skipped a couple of meals, showed no energy and would would collapse when put on his feet. In that short time since the last vet visit he had blood in his abdomen, and had gone into renal and liver failure. Vet suspected that a melanoma discovered earlier in the year by ultrasound had invaded his liver and ruptured. There was no cure for his problem.
