Cortana is a perfect example of how it takes a village. She was a very challenging rescue. She and a companion were spotted at a very busy shopping mall parking lot. When the rescue community became aware, the rescue effort started. I had agreed that if we could get her I would take them in. Unfortunately, the other baby disappeared and Cortana proved herself a worthy opponent! It took a lot of people and effort but she was finally trapped. When she came to us she was so untrusting and had an escape artist mentality. I really thought she would be with us for life. But her perfect family found her. When her future parents expressed a desire for her we had many and frequent conversations. Well, this is one of our most favorite rescue stories. Her parents were perfect for her. She had an elder fur sister and Very loving parents. When her sister died, we were instrumental in finding her another sibling and she’s had a very beautiful life.
