Lucas

Lucas is a sweet, 15 year old blind poodle. He was rescued from a kill shelter in congestive heart failure. We are so happy he is with us.

I was very sick when Mom rescued me from the shelter. I have serious heart issues and was in congestive heart failure. I am 14 years old and also blind and no one else wanted me. Well, with medication and a special diet I am so much better. I also give lots of kisses because I am so grateful to be a sanctuary baby.

Update: Lucas had a severe setback. He spent time in an oxygen tank and required ICU care. An echocardiogram revealed severe degenerative valve disease. His prognosis is very poor but he will continue receiving his meds and lots of love.
