Opal

Opal was a very sad story. She was a real elder who was loved and cared for her whole life. Then her world was turned upside down when her elder mom took a bad fall, had to have surgery for a broken hip and ended up moving to a nursing home. No one wanted this baby and she ended up in a high kill shelter after such a blessed life. And again, no one wanted her because she was crippled. Her mom had invested in great expense for orthopedic surgery years before (FHO). By now the bone was eroding and made one of her back legs very weak and she did not use it. Turns out she had a lot of medical problems that made another extensive surgery dangerous. She did not seem to be bothered by it so we let her be. I considered her a permanent sanctuary baby but then a perfect Mom came along. The lady who adopted Jolie for her mom was the reason Opal ended up in a perfect home. When they decided to keep Jolie and wanted another baby for her Mom I started talking to the mom directly to find a good fit for her. After a few conversations God inspired me to tell her about Opal. She was very interested and it was love at first sight after our meet and greet!
